Settings

Account

Shown in collaboration, shared notes, and account menus.

Use initials, Gravatar, or a public image URL.

Optional context for future shared workspaces.

Set a new password for email sign-in. Only applies if you use email to log in.

Secure your account with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, etc.).

Permanently delete your account and all your data. This cannot be undone.

Choose the assistant identity shown in chat and note view.

Set custom guidance for how your assistant should respond and collaborate.

Optional. When enabled, notner generates a short welcome text on app start.

When opening old chats from history: show the assistant's thought process (e.g. "Thought for 9s"). The current chat always keeps reasoning until you leave it; this setting only affects past chats.

Number of revisions to keep per note (0 = no version history). Default: 3.

Permanently delete trashed items after this many days (0 = never).

    Use Codex on this computer

    No browser extension is required. Install the notner Bridge companion and it runs securely in your system tray.

    1. Download notner Bridge for Linux, then open it. It will check that Codex CLI is installed and signed in.
    2. Select Continue with notner.com in the companion. Your browser opens notner so you can approve the connection.
    3. Allow local-network access if Chrome asks. notner then uses the direct connection on this computer and falls back to the secure relay when you are away.

    No code, token, browser extension, public IP, or networking setup is required. Self-hosted and manual connection options are available under Advanced. The download keeps notner open and fetches the latest published AppImage from GitHub. Developers can also build it with npm run companion:build.

    Web search

    Choose a search backend independently of your chat model. Codex search uses the paired local bridge; Google grounding uses your Google API connection.

    Requires a paired and running AI Runtime Bridge. Codex web search can be changed here without changing the active LLM profile.
